Kickin It Old School/my top 10 "Pre-Ps2 games" of all time.

In the past couple of days Ive been playing the game Halo:Reach for the Xbox 360. Now if you have ever played a FPS and your just having one of those days where you have the lowest kill to death ratio on you team and you feel like throwing a controller at your 7 year old sister, then why not kick it old school.

I got so frustrated that i unplugged my Xbox and ran to get my Sega Genesis. I started playing games like "Streets of Rage".
I find that someone who is an avid video game player should find the time to go back to there roots of playing. I always find myself playing Dr. Mario on my old game-boy when its raining out or when there is nothing to do.
I don't understand why people think just because its old its not fun anymore. People selling there Segas and there N64s like they don't have feelings.

Now on to my top ten. i thought i would start this new section of my blog with my top ten games for a specific system and every other week ill pick a different system. This weeks system is the Sega Genesis. (ill try to put a game from every category into here so i'm not playing favorites =). )

NUMBER 10: Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

As a kid and being in love with the show the game was freakin awesome. Its kind of like Streets of Rage, you just beat the pulp out of goons till you beat the level.

Number 9: Rocket Knight Adventures

Its a platform game where you play as Sparkster, an opossum knight who fights an army of robots and pigs.

Number 8: X-men

Exactly what it says. you play as the mutant team of superheroes called the X-men.

Number 7: Mortal Kombat

One of the best 2D fighters of all time. All star cast of well known characters featuring Sub-Zero and Scorpion

Number 6: Street Fighter 2 : Special Champion Edition

Just a number 7, Street Fighter is one of the best 2D fighters of all time. This game has characters such as Ryu and Ken

Number 5: Earthworm Jim

Single handedly one of the most fun games Ive ever played. You follow the character Jim. He fights his way through hell and back facing off against garbage can monsters and crazy puppies.

Number 4: Doctor Robotniks Bean Machine

If you have never played this game come see me right now. The most fun Puzzle game of all time. I have the Sega Genesis Emulator just for this game. Just wow. i cant even tell you about this game, just play it for yourself.

Number 3: Rock n' Roll Racing

If you've ever played Twisted Metal, this is the first Twisted Metal before Twisted Metal was even Twisted Metal or it knew it was Twisted Metal and I love Twisted Metal. This game has an awesome soundtrack and it has some pretty cool characters. O man I love this game

Number 2: Streets of Rage 2

So you didn't see that one coming? You should have payed attention at the beginning of the post. This game is awesome. you beat up bros and kill people. I mean really need I say more.

Number 1 !!!!!: BoogerMan

This was the game that i played everyday of my life when I was 4 up until today. I love this game. One of the best story lines and game play that Ive ever seen in a game. Its visually acceptable and it has the funniest characters

Well that raps up my blog for this week. My mom is calling me for dinner and i gotta run. if its all bunched up and out of order my bad.

VIDEOGAMES "The All-Star Playlist"

Since probably around the mid 90s mainstream music in video games has captivated audiences everywhere.

Just kidding but its pretty cool playing games like Need For Speed and listening to Disturbed at the same time.So here is where music in video games started with me.

When I was a kid i played a game for the Sega Genesis call "Rock and Roll Racing". It featured songs like "Paranoid" by Black Sabbath, "Highway Star" by Deep Purple, and "Born to Be Wild" by Steppenwolf. It was a 16 bit soundboard but you can defiantly tell what song it was. Games like this and like Grand Theft Auto 3, with its active radio that featured songs by mainstream artists, has shaped the videogame industry into what it is today.

This new form of marketing music to people has helped people like me and many others open their minds to different music. Kids these days don't know good music. Now they can play games like Rock Band and listen to songs from AC/DC or Queen. It really does keep classical rock alive in the hearts of people. My Dad heres me singing The Police and automatically says "How do you know that song?". Now I can have a real opinion on music because I was open to artists like Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin. About 6 years ago my opinion would have been that Limp Bizkit was the best band ever. Now I know more different types of music. SO..... my opinion changes.

RockBand 3 Introduces New Technology to the Videogame Industry.

Music and Rhythm video games started in the late 90s with the introduction of PaRappa the Rapper and Dance Dance Revolution (DDR). Since then the new ways to play video games especially in music games has changed dramatically. In the mid 2000s Guitar Hero was introduced and sold over 4 million copies with its first release. In 2007 Rock Band was released. It introduced a new way of playing Rhythm games. You can now play drums, bass, guitar, or sing.

On October 26th 2010 Rock Band 3 will be released. The developers of the game have worked with Fender as well as the developers that produce MIDI products. They have finally made a game that teaches you how to play an instrument. The drum controller will have 2 active bass pedals, 4 working drum pads, and 3 working cymbals. The guitar controller that was made by Fender with the help of MIDI productions will have 6 working strings and a special pickup in the guitar that the video game can read. The game cas 2 different modes that you can either enjoy the game like the original 2 games or the new version teaches you how to play the instrument. The new game will also feature a 22 key keyboard.
